Following the success of Amar Singh Chamkila, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is set to collaborate once more with Netflix India. The latest venture is a romantic drama series tentatively titled “O Saathi Rey,” featuring acclaimed actors Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles.
Aditi Rao Hydari & Arjun Rampal to star in Imtiaz Ali’s next
The series will be directed by Sajid Ali, Imtiaz’s brother, who is well-known for the romantic film Laila Majnu (2018). Imtiaz will take on the roles of writer and showrunner while producing the series under his banner, Window Seat Films. While specific plot details are scarce, sources suggest that the narrative will delve into an emotionally charged storyline centred around an extramarital affair.
The dynamic pairing of Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari is anticipated to offer viewers a fresh and engaging romantic experience. Both actors are enthusiastic about this new project, with shooting scheduled to begin in February 2025. This series will mark Aditi Rao Hydari’s first project after her recent marriage to Tamil actor Siddharth in September 2024. It will be her third collaboration with Netflix, following her appearances in Heera Mandi and Ajeeb Daastaans.

On the other hand, Arjun Rampal is currently immersed in shooting the spy thriller Dhurandhar, alongside Ranveer Singh. He has a busy slate ahead with five films set for release. Punjab 95 with Diljit Dosanjh, 3 Monkeys and Penthouse from Abbas-Mustan, Nikita Roy and the Book of Darkness with Sonakshi Sinha and the historical drama The Battle of Bhima Koregaon.
